She was the owner of Bryan's Upholstery in Fort Pierce and a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church in Fort Pierce. She is survived by three sons, James Doyle Jr. of Longwood, Donald E. of Fort Pierce and Robert L. of Ketchikan, Alaska; two daughters, Geraldine M.

JAMES WESLEY CASTILE, 47, of Tampa died Monday at Tampa General Hospital. A native of Alcorn County, he was a truck driver and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sue of Florence, two sons, James Anthony and Gerald David, and one daughter, Wanda Diane, all of Florence; three brothers, Wesley Jr.

and Gerald Wayne, both of Florence, and Arthur of Gulfport, one sister, Wanda Ann Staggs of Florence; and three grandchildren. Florida Mortuary. EVA MAE COLE, 52, of Tampa died Dec. 30 in Tampa. A native of Leary, she moved to Tampa from Valdosta, in 1958.

WALTER HOWARD EVANS, 68, IVYE H. BAISDEN, 91, of Tam- of Tampa died Monday in Tampa. A native of Baltimore, he moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1979 from Baltimore. He was a truck driver, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a Methodist.

A native of Tampa, she moved back to Tampa from Santo Stefano, Italy, 70 years ago. She was a homemaker, and Catholic. She is survived by one son, Pat Matassini, and one daughter, Dorothy Colla, both of Tampa; one sister, Antoinette Vaccaro of Tampa; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Blount Nebraska Avenue Chapel. NEMA MARTHA HURST, 72, of Tampa died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Tennessee, she moved to Tampa from Tennessee in 1966. She was employed by Fashions Then and Now.

She is survived by one son, James, and one daughter, Barbara Stevenson, both of Tampa; one sister; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Neptune Society, St. Petersburg, ROLAND C. JONES, 72, of Tampa died Tuesday at Centurion Hospital of Carrollwood. A native of Mingo Junction, Ohio, he moved to Tampa in 1979 from Steubenville, Ohio.

He was retired from Weirton Steel and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Methodist Church in East Springfield, Ohio, A.M. Toronto Ohio Lodge and the Tampa Egypt Temple Shrine. He is survived by his wife, Clara; three sons, Ronald of Portsmouth, Ohio, Bruce of Adron, Ohio, and Robert of Sarasota; two daughters, Pamela Yanda and Penny Stewart, both of Tampa; one sister, Julia Eno of Bergholz, Dhio; nine grandchildren; and one great -grandchild.

National Cremation Society. TONY FREDERICK LANE, 20, of Tampa died Sunday in Sumter County due to accidental causes. A lifelong resident of Tampa, he was self-employed in marketing. He is survived by his wife, Donna Mathews; three daughters, Aisha, Zayne and Kamiyla, all of Tampa; his parents, Joseph F. Burns Sr.

of Wildwood and Melissa of Tampa; six brothers, Willie Fennell, Jason, Marco Gandy and Eric, all of Tampa, and Joseph Burns and Jeffrey Burns, both of Wildwood; and three sisters, Kimberly Burns and Sebrina Burns, both of Wildwood, and Dorlicia Tillman of Orlando. A native of Plant City, she was a lifelong resident of the Tampa Bay area. She was a lunchroom cook for the Hillsborough County School Board and worked at Franklin Junior High School for 10 years.

DONALD R. McGOWAN, 68, of Tampa died Tuesday at Hillhaven Rehabilitation. A native of New Bedford, he moved to Tampa from New Bedford in 1955. He was a retired electronics technician and had worked many years at Chamberiain Audio Products. He was a U.S.

Army veteran of World War II and member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 4 and the Civil Air Patrol. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette; one son, Clifford Madden, and two daughters, Barbara Choquette and Robin Williams, all of Lakeland; his father, Robert P. Sr. of Elmer, N.J.; Ira and John, both of Elmer; four sisters, Ruth, Christie, Shirley and 1 Linda; and eight grandchildren.

Wells Memorial Funeral Home, Plant City. JAMES V. OLIVER, 79, of Tam- pa died Tuesday in Tampa. A native of Mathews County, he moved to Tampa from Texas City, Texas, in 1955. He was a ship captain and began his career in 1933, and sailed with American Oil Co.

on their first tanker in 1936. He was in the Merchant Marines and a veteran of World War II, and a Tampa Bay Harbor pilot for 30 years. He was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church in Vohannon, and attended Hyde Park Methodist Church. He was member of Council of American Master Mariners, and past member of Master Mates Pilots and the Propeller Club. He 1 is survived by his wife, Avis two daughters, Judy and Heather, both of Tampa; and three sisters, Cecile Whitson, Mildred Sweigard and Hazel Strachen.

CORA LEE SCAGLIONE, 71, of Tampa died Saturday in Tampa. A native of Floral City, she had lived in the Tampa Bay area since 1927. She was a supervisor at Krispy Kreme. She is survived by her husband, Alexander three sons, Alexander Jr. and Larry, both of Tampa, and Curtis of Hudson Beach; two daughters, Joyce Duffer and Janice Fairbanks, both of Hudson Beach; three sisters, Ruth Rowe and Mary Brown, both of Tampa, and Alice Partridge of Gibsonton; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The woman, who lives at Kings Park Apartments, was taking a shower and the children were playing when the shots were fired about 10 a.m. outside the apartment complex at 1601 E. Alabama police Sgt. Roger Stemmer said. The shooting shattered a bedroom window and the rear window of a 1975 four-door brown Chrysler parked in front of the apartments.

UPPER TAMPA BAY Man arrested in beating of 2 children TOWN 'N COUNTRY After being beaten with a belt for losing a flashlight, a 14-year-old boy and his 10-year-old sister were beaten with the flashlight once the boy found it, according to Hillsborough County sheriff's officials. A man was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse and battery for striking the children Sunday, said Capt. James Miller. Both children were struck in the legs with a belt as punishment for running away from home and for losing a flashlight, Miller said. When the boy located the flashlight, both he and his sister were struck across their heads with it, Miller said.

The boy called the state Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services to report the abuse Tuesday, Miller said. Child abuse investigator Bruce Beneby, told deputies that he found bruises on the youngster's legs and heads. NORTH TAMPA Robbery victim suffers a heart attack NORTH TAMPA A 44-year-old man suffered a heart attack Tuesday after he was beaten and robbed by two men. The man was riding his bicycle on North Lantana Avenue at East Linebaugh Avenue about 9:44 p.m. when he was approached by two men who asked him if he wanted to buy crack cocaine.

When he said no, one of the men punched him in the face and knocked him to the ground. The other man kicked him, and they stole money from his pockets and rode off with his bicycle. As he was walking home, he suffered a heart attack and was taken to University Community Hospital. He was listed in serious but stable condition Wednesday.
