Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (46-28/20-25)
SYRACUSE 3, DURHAM 2 (BOX)
Syracuse scored three runs on the night and all three came on the long ball. In the third, Mike Brosseau put Syracuse on the board in the third, Eddie Rosario tied the game up at 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth, and DJ Stewart walked things off one batter later; talk about clutch. Dom Hamel wasn’t great but he wasn’t bad either, allowing two runs over five innings with seven hits, two walks, and five strikeouts.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (35-32/23-22)
BINGHAMTON 4, READING 2 (BOX)
It has happened! Nolan McLean won his first Double-A game! Not that wins and losses mean much- especially in the minors- but it must be a weight off of the guy’s shoulders, as he came into the evening 0-8. Binghamton threatened in the first and second, but things finally popped off in the third. Jeremiah Jackson put the Ponies on the board with a sac fly and then Alex Ramirez added two more runs with a triple. Both teams scratched out a few more runs, Reading two and Binghamton one more, but overall both bullpens were solid. Of note, Wyatt Young had a perfect 4-4 evening; the guy has been on fire as of late and is hitting .375/.500/.425 in the month of August.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (33-33/23-26)
JERSEY SHORE 10, BROOKLYN 9 (BOX)
Shots were popping off in Coney Island, and they weren’t just from the skells, either. The Cyclones and BlueClaws combined for 22 hits total, with two doubles, two triples, and four long balls. Down by a run, Brooklyn had a four-run inning in the bottom of the first, giving them plenty of cushion. Both teams scored in the fourth, but then the Cyclones erupted for three more in the fifth, giving them a very comfortable 8-2 lead. In the sixth, all hell broke loose, as Jack Wenninger and Alan Perdomo combined to give up six runs, knotting the game up at eight apiece. The BlueClaws took the lead in the eighth and added an extremely important insurance run in the ninth, as Brooklyn was able to scratch out a run in the bottom of the ninth. Christopher Suero seemed poised to keep that rally going, hitting what seemed like a double into left, but he got gunned down at second to end the game.

ROSTER ALERT: LHP Gregori Louis assigned to Brooklyn Cyclones from St. Lucie Mets.
Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (22-44/17-30)
PALM BEACH 5, ST. LUCIE 3 (BOX)
Raise your hand, everybody: who else forgot that Kyle Crick was a member of the organization? The right-hander walked the first two batters he faced, recorded an out, and then hit the next two batters he faced. Irving Cota finished the inning with a strikeout and a ground out to limit the damage to one run, not the best way to start things. The ballgame wasn’t an outright disaster, as the Cardinals and the Mets traded leads a few times, but in the end, Palm Beach had St. Lucie’s number.
